Coming from the United States, Gene has 26 years of experience as a pilot and has participated in 20 editions of the festival. He has won GEBA’s Ted Torok Award and two BFA Directors Awards. Among his accomplishments, he served as President and board member of the Great Eastern Balloon Association (GEBA). His passion for ballooning was sparked as a child when he saw a balloon in the film Around the World in 80 Days. Many years later, when he fulfilled that dream, he was driven by a desire to share that excitement with children of all ages.
