With 25 years of experience as a hot air balloon pilot, Jean-François has participated in 23 editions of the festival and has flown in Canada, the United States, and Hungary. Among his achievements, he certified UltraMagic balloons in Canada.

His passion dates back to 1984, when he saw hot air balloons in Saint-Jean and took part in a tethered flight.
